Ingredients:-
Sujji(bombai rawa)
Gramflour(sifted)
Milk
Coconut(fresh & milky)
ALMOND/cashewnuts powder(coarsely)
Ghee
Greengram flour
TAKE EQUAL QUANTITY OF ALL ABOVE INGREDIENTS -100gm/ml
Sugar 1½cup
saffron strands 1tsp+1tsp milk to dissolve
For garnishing:- Cashewnuts/Pistasioes
Roast each flour for 3-4 minutes Or till a fine aroma leaves.
Add 100ml of water to the milk and boil, keep aside.
Mix all flours in a wide pan evenly.
Keep 1tsp ghee aside & heat the remaining ghee to fry again the mixed flours for few seconds.
Add the boiled milk, mix thoroughly without any lumps
(be sure of them).
Keep stirring continuously,without sticking to the bottom.
Let the sweet should be like the 'halwa(thick mass consistency)'.
Put off the heat and add sugar, mix well fastly.
Dissolve the saffron strands in the milk and add to the sweet, stir well.
(If you feel it is loose consistency, allow to keep a few minutes on low heat/till it thickens)
Transfer it into the pre-greased (with ghee) plate and garnish with nuts,
cut into desired shapes with a sharp knife.
variations:- My mother makes with 1 portion of each fresh coconut, ghee, gramflour, milk & 3 portions of sugar,
process is same as above.
I think everybody like this sweet to prepare & I wish everybody 'Happy ugadi'.
