DRY CHILLI CHICKEN
Serves 3-4
2 boneless chicken breasts – cut into 1” pieces, oil for frying
MARINADE
1tabsp vinegar, 1 tsp soya sauce
¼ tabsp ajinomotto (optional), but it will give you taste, a little salt and pepper
COATING BATTER
2 eggs ( if you don’t want eggs, leave it )
3 tabsp maida, 2 tabsp corn flour, 2 pinches of baking powder, salt & pepper
COATING SAUCE
2-3 tabsp oil, green chillies, 10-15 garlic flakes (optional)
2 tabsp soya sauce, 2 tabsp ketchup or chilli sauce, pinch of salt & pepper
pinch of sugar ( optional ) & ajinomotto
GARNISHING
Capsicum and onions (according to your taste)
Method for Preparation
1. Marinate the chicken pieces in vinegar, soya sauce, salt, pepper and ajinomotto. Keep aside for 4-6 hours
2. Coating batter: Beat the eggs, add maida, corn flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Mix well.
3. Heat oil for frying. Dip chicken pieces in the batter and fry on low heat till golden brown for 2-3 minutes.
4. Sauce : Blend the garlic and green chillies roughly in a grinder or crush and chop finely. Heat 2-3 tablespoon oil, add the garlic and green chillies, stir it for half a minute, add soya sauce, tomato ketchup ( or sauce ) and ¼ cup of water. Add the fried chicken pieces and stir to coat the chicken pieces well. Add a little bit of pepper, ajinomotto and sugar ( optional ).
5. Add the chopped spring onion and capsicum.
6. Serve hot.
Tip: By using the same method you can prepare chilli gobhi or chilli mealmaker or anything you can imagine !!
