Ingredients
500 gms chicken, boneless and diced into bite sized pieces.
1 tsp. each of turmeric, coriander, cumin, star anise powder and ginger and garlic paste.
2 tbsp sugar and chopped lemon grass
25ml each lime juice and soya sauce
100 ml thick coconut milk.
2 tsp. brown sugar
Salt to taste
Method
Mix all the above ingredients and keep aside for around 30 minutes. Arrange chicken on skewers and barbecue or cook under a grill basting frequently with the marinade. Serve with peanut sauce.
Satay (the most popular dish of Malaysia)
PS:-Excellent and inexpensive food. One of the most common food in Malaysia, Dining at Pudu Rai hotel or roadside stall may sound plain, in Malaysia eating food at a roadside stall is a much-loved practice.
I have enjoyed my Malaysia job tenure with this dish a lot.
