Mungeri Lal and Sham Lal are walking back from the temple. Mungeri wonders whether it would be alright to smoke while praying. Sham replies, 'Why don't you ask Panditji?'
So Mungeri goes up to the pandit and asks, 'Panditji, may I smoke while I pray?' But pandit says, 'No, beta, you may not. That's utter disrespect to our religion.'
Mungeri goes back to his friend and tells him what the good pandit told him. Sham says, 'I'm not surprised. You asked the wrong question. Let me try.' And so Sham goes up to the pandit and asks, 'Panditji, may pray while I smoke?' To which the pandit eagerly replies, 'Kyon nahi, beta, Yeh to bahut achhi baat hai!'
Moral : The reply you get depends on the question you ask!
