8 o clock! Oh my Gosh, I need to hurry up.
'Mom, where are my shoes? I will be late today too' shouted 10 year old Sandy.
'Oh! keep quiet. I am getting late too. You are old enough to get ready. My boss will shout at me for being late' thus reacted Sandy's mom.
Sandy atlast dragged her feet to the neighbouring school of hers. Drinking water from the fountain and looking at her friend, she said, 'Hi Brandy, are you also late? Come on, hurry up let's go to the class room'.
'Dear students!' class teacher Kim addressed the students so lovingly.
'Shut up!' murmered Sandy reacting to Kim in an opposite manner.
'Hey! stop teasing' whispered Brandy.
The class went on for an hour. 'I wonder Why you always take teacher's side' said sandy at the ring of the bell.
Walking towards the sports ground, Brandy with her eyes filled with sense of gratitude and appreciation said 'I have great regard for the teacher's profession, for without them, we students are no more. We depend on them to grow mentally, intellectually and so on. We atleast ought to respect their age. They are elder to us. They treat students like their own children. Do you know the pain their hearts bear when they hear us commenting on them? When we grow, we might also become teachers. Imagine the pain we undergo when we face such students commenting on us too for no reason. See sandy, I feel it is always better to put oneself in other's shoes before reacting negatively'.
'Oh no...' questioned Sandy, 'then why do we come to school? Will it not be a boring place if we were not to comment on teachers?'
'Oh no', reacted Brandy, 'we are here to study well and reach our goal. We need to enjoy student life in the manner we ought to. It is in the school we learn what life is and to learn to live a better and meaningful life'.
'Thanks Brandy for being my real friend. Miss kim is right there, great. Come on let's go' shouted Sandy.
'I am sorry miss Kim for commenting you. I shall not repeat it. Please forgive me' said sandy to her teacher.
She was amazed to see the love and care her teacher poured on her while patting her back.
'It's ok dear child, mistakes do happen. It is wise not to repeat them knowingly' were the consoling words of her teacher.
Brandy's heart was filled with happiness.'Wow! I could change one mind negative to positive' thought brandy within herself.
'A life is worth living if we can change atleast one' Brandy heard these words from her clear conscience.
Next day at school was a wonderful day for Sandy with a whole new change of attitude towards teachers who teach us not only the education but also life. After all 'EDUCATION IS FOR LIFE, NOT FOR MERE LIVING'.
