Q.What is Love?
A.Love is the ability to give and receive emotional support. In daily life love has a great role to play. For human development and sucessful functioning there is constant need to give and receive love.
Q.What are the Symptoms of Love?
A.Whenever exchange of love takes place you experience a feeling of buoyant energy within you. Ecstasy feeling will make you to soar high.Your mood will be liberal. You will be flooded with positive thoughts.You will be pesonified with optimism. Your energy level will be high.
Q.Why Do We Need Love?
A.Whenever we feel lonely we need love to overcome the pain of aloneness. Love binds people.Social integrity can only be maintained by love. Love is not one sided affair. Loving is bipolar process.
Q.What are the Main Traits of Love?
A.Main traits of love are: 1.Empathy 2. Concern for the welfare and happiness of others 3. Liberal attitude 4. Participatory process 5. No return is expected as it is voluntary 6. Non possessive feeling 7. Positive attitude 8.Optimistic outlook 9. Sympathetic disposition.
Q.What are the factors that promote Love?
A.Early experience with parents buildsup trust.Mutual trust is a pre requisite for love. Love is emotional competence. Self acceptance is a degree of maturity. Self esteem is a precondition for love. Empathetic feelings that form the foundation for love should be developed during early childhood. Similarly sympathy towards others problems should also be promoted during childhood. Self doubts, cynicism and defensiveness will block feelings of love. These negative feelings will consume internal energy.Children who are well cared for, recognised,encouraged,supported will develop self confidence.Self confidence will promote self-esteem. Self confident children will have lot of capacity for expressing the feeling of love. Selfish children want others to love them, while they are not interested in others. Hence selfish children get isolated and experience the pain of aloneness.
