Articles: Poetry | In Search of Man - Mr. Rama Rao Saripalli
| |
Tracing the cattle hoof prints,
I went searching for human tenements,
And for several palm leaves
astonishing, hidden in archives,
I went on searching and searching,
and my inquest remained unending;
I found a dwelling,
but no where I saw any person.
There is no end of the creation,
nor there is indication of destruction;
With the victorious march of science,
the man has become a cog in the machine;
If there exists the heaven,
where is it then?
If there is heaven,
where does HE live in?
If nuclear arms can perforate HIS feet, then
every person today becomes heir apparent
of savage Jara, the Krishna's assailant;
Today is not that day, when plunderer,
Ratnakar, absolved of all his sins,
could shape himself as Valmiki;
It is not today, that day, when
Incarnations descended from heaven
to end the devilish civilization,
and established virtues
by reducing the burden of universe;
That day has gone,
Alas! Today in the world in all directions,
there are inscriptions
of devilish civilization,
not one, but countless;
From the dwelling of peoples
human values are missing and absconding;
Who knows their return;
And after how many myriads of years
it will happen?
