Never lose your temper

Once there lived a young John, who is very short tempered by nature. He knew nothing, except for finding faults in others and shouting at them. People were very much disgusted because of this attitude of him. He had no good name neither at home nor outside of home. People always use to curse him and keep him in distance because of his short temperedness. One night John's father called him by his side and said.'Son, why do you lose your temper so soon?'. John replied, 'But father I just can't control it'. Father took to him to the garden and pointing towards his room wall, told him 'Son every day, you nail this wall the number of times you lose your temper'. Then John started doing the same. First day there were 20 nails, next day 18 and so on. He taught controlling the temper was much better than nailing the wall every day. And day by day number of nails on the wall gradually decreased. Finally he could control his anger. His father was very happy and same was John. His father said, ' Son, I am happy that you have controlled your anger. And now, whenever you control your anger, remove each nail'. John started doing that also. The number of times he controlled his anger he started remove the nails from the wall. And finally he had removed all the nails from the wall. Then father takes him to the wall and says 'Son have you seen this, there are no nails on the wall and you have controlled your anger completely. I am very happy son, you succeeded. But son, what about the holes on the wall which are still there as a result of your nailing!!!!'. John couldn't understand . Father continued 'Son listen, now you have suceeded in controlling your anger. People around you are also happy with you, but the holes you made in their hearts by your anger, even now remain the same. You have completely changed, even then the holes you made will never close'. So, please don't lose your temper again.
