Articles: Poetry | Lord Sri Jagannath - Mr. Rama Rao Saripalli
| |
HE has beautiful eyes stretched wide,
But He has no eyelids to hide;
HE doesn’t sleep clock the round,
But He espies the perfect world;
HE has no ear lobes though He is not deaf,
But lends His ears posing willed self;
HE observes silence though not dumb,
But He pantomimes with eyes plumb;
HE has broad shoulders without arms,
But He rotates the wheel of time;
HE has huge thighs sans lower limbs;
But He circumambulates the universe;
HE sits with siblings, in sanctum sanctorum,
But He leaves His wife in another room;
HE sneaks into His wife’s chamber at night,
But the purport of His visit is covert;
HE moves with siblings in chariots once a year,
But not without pomp and fanfare;
HE ignores and doesn’t think about His spouse,
But visits Gundicha Guest House;
HE is decried by His wife who removes axle of His Chariot
But He doesn’t pay any heed to it;
HE halts at aunt’s abode awhile on His palace sojourn,
But prefers her bran-baked cake even;
HE pleads alibi for His movements outside the temple,
But His wife Lakshmi does not take it simple;
HE is the Lord of the Universe, Lord Jagannath
But He is the incarnation of Lord Krishan;
HE confers many boons to all His devotees,
But more bliss by His darshan.
Rama Rao Saripalli, June 6, 2004.
