Jealousy. One of the evils in human character. Among many evils, why I have chosen to write something on jealousy is that it is the easiest one, among the evils, to overcome. First of all, we witness various forms of jealousy and different situations under which we experience it. These experiences pop out so many questions like what reaction we protray on experiencing it? how to overcome? what to understand to be normal persons again? Jealousy is an ill-feeling towards someone who got, did, possess something which we wish to have. This type of feeling is common to people of all ages, caste, cadre, religion etc. But reactions may differ. Naturally, with the first bite of jealousy, we unconsciously avoid or begin to hate those people who are the reasons for our jealousy, but did no harm to us. Our wishes may range right from getting a rank to a lover, to hardworking nature to socialising abilities, to acquire status or position to property, to look beauty to having a good partner, so on and so forth.(people can enjoy their life despite their difficulties). Jealousy invades us right from our childhood. When we were kids, we feel jealous if our parents show more interest towards our own younger ones and more if that love is towards some relatives' kids. In school, when our favourite teacher shows more concern towards another student or out of two students, ever after equal hard work, if one gets rank and the other fails in the entrance may spark jealousy. If some of our friends succeeded in winning the love of their beloved and ourselves can't gain besides having everything what one could wish for in a partner. If someone gets lottery or selected for an award or a colleague gets more appreciation or for someone who is younger to us but genius and is moving up the ladder. In the case of middle aged, when their children did not make it for an exam or for a job abroad while everyone in their circle have their children abroad with a green card. In the old age, if their friends are enjoying good health and their children taking care of them tenderly and still listening to their words. We can give innumerable examples like the above under which one may be prone to feel jealous. Jealousy is not a feeling which exists all the time. Based on the emotional standards, mental health, one can be a host to this feeling. Reactions:: If we do not check or show interest in the attitudes of our children, this jealousy may cause to introvertial nature or an arrogant bossism towards the younger ones. We should be equally careful as teachers in observing the emotions of the children. We should never create an impression in the class that we are fond of, some students, in particular . As parents of teenagers, we should be friendly towards them so that they can share their feelings without any hesitation. We can convince them and motivate their zeal and inspire them towards higher goals. Coming to other ages, as we are grown ups by ourselves, we should be confident. We should carefully introspect ourselves. If something can be achieved, we should work hard for it. If some things like love or marriage, we should accept the destiny. Self-confidence is indirectly proportional to jealousy. Awareness or acceptance of the eternal laws of life is also indirectly proportional to jealousy which we think we are deserved to receive. Those who always love some kind of work and pursue it, can be happy all the time.One must have competitive spirit or possessiveness but not jealousy. Let jealousy not become our legacy.
