Life can sometimes seem as though
Our world's 'a tumbling down
When everything is going wrong
Each time we turn around.
Sometimes we wonder, 'Why me, Lord?'
And soon the answer's clear -
First He needs our attention
In order to draw us near.
Now, bold you'll find He isn't
When to us He's calling out;
His voice is soft and gentle
And you'll never hear Him shout.
So that is why when we need Him most
We must take the time to seek
A silence in His presence
That we might hear Him speak.
For that is when our peace will come
To rescue us from our woes;
For God wants to take them all away
Then the door to our strife He can close.
