Y'S MEN INTERNATIONAL (1922) HEAD QUARTERS: GENEVA
MOTTO: TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE DUTY THAT ACCOMPANIES EVERY RIGHT
Under the banner of Y’s Men’c Club of Vijayawada Town, part of Y's Men International Organisation, a free cloak room was started in stall No.14 at Rajiv Gandhi Park near Krishnaveni Ghat Vijayawada from 28th August to 8th September, 2004 daily from 4 A.M. to 8 P.M. during Krishna Pushkarams.
44 students of Andhra Loyola College, Chemistry Association, Vijayawada, have attended the cloak room as voluntaries and maintained carefully with devotion . Sri K.V.A.Rama Sastry, Head of Chemistry Department, Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada has motivated these 44 students to do this voluntary service under the leadership of Mr. Uday Kiran of II B.Sc.,
In total 1823 pilgrims have kept their luggage (4106 articles) during these 12 days and were pleased very much for the free service rendered. They expressed that they could happily go to river to take bath and had darsan of Kanaka Durga Goddess with ease and without any burden of carrying luggage. Many piligrims have recorded their appreciations of this free service in the visitors book.
On 7th September 2004 at 6-45 P.M. Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sri L.Rajgopal garu paid a visit to the stall and congratulated both the organisers and students for the meritorious service they are doing for the piligrims. A copy of his appreciation is reproduced below:
“Dear Veerabhadra Sastry garu,
It is a great service at your age that you care so much for the piligrims and appreciate your gesture and involving the youth of Vijayawada in this great service.

On 8th September 2004 at 8 P.M. District Governor of District, I Ysm. Dr.M. Prameela Devi, Retired professor of Telugu Department, Osmania University, visited the stall and in the valedictory function, she gave away certificates to the students of Andhra Loyola College in appreciation of their service rendered during these 12 days. She advised the Organisers to start a youth club with these students and involve them in such service activities in future also. The students on the spot showed their enthusiasm to start a youth club under the Y's Men International banner.
