Devulapalli Krishna sastry popularly known a s Krishna Sastry was a doyen of telugu romantic literature. He is known for his love, patriotic and bhakti poems. His earlier poems collected and published as Krishna Paksham stood as a master piece in romantic poetry.
Though he penned and pessimism in his poems, his works are lauded for the content. He sailed with his ardent love in imaginary world and his love Urvasi was rated as best poetic heroine, winning the hearts of millions in the thirties of 20 th century.
As a poet he was respected by many with critics lowering their heads after prolonged critical assessments.
He is the best known for his crisp chiseling of words. His poems represent the heart beats of flowers, birds, all in all nature in its zenith of beauty.
Even ‘sri sri’,a maha kavi praised Krishna sastry for his esthetic ecstasies. There was a saying then in literary circles roamed round ‘ Krishna Sastry’s grief is world spread grief and sri sri’s despair is of the world.
Krishna Sastry wrote dance balleys depicting mythologies and were revered all through. His cinema lyrics are known as literary gems unbeatable even at present times. His son brought out many of his works to ight and were published to satiate the tastes of literary circles.
