Telugu movies lately have become very routine and boring. They either have the mass heros like Chiranjeevi or Venkatesh or cheap comedies. But this movie,'Ammai Baagundi' had SOMETHING different, exactly what I was looking for.
The hero's problem is very interesting in the story, he loves a girl at the bus stop. Things go well for some days. He finds out her interests, but the only thing left is talk with her, just before that, his parents fix a match (just like any family). Luckily, the girl turns out to be the same one as he saw at the bus stop!!
Wow, so far, story seems like, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun. But not yet. He happily marries her thinking that 'she is her dream girl whom he loved at the bus stop. But, its not until AFTER marriage, he looks at the girl he loved at the bus stop AGAIN on the street and the one he is married to next to him in the car. BOTH ARE DIFFERENT!!!
They are just look alikes. We all know how hard it is if it happens in our lives. We definitely get a heart attack, hehehehe, relax, this is just a movie.
This happens on his day of marriage. Interestingly, he finds out this AFTER his marriage.
So, now he is in trouble, he can not live with a look-alike who just has the similar face but TOTALLY different tastes as his lover.
But, the girl that he is married turns out to be very special!
Her dialogues touched me really: She says that girl is a dependent throughout her life. She explains:
In her CHILDHOOD, she needs her FATHER AND MOTHER to take care of her.
As she grows up, she needs a BROTHER whom she can trust and who protects her.
After marriage, she needs her HUSBAND to trust and to share her life with.
You might argue that women are changing today. True,I agree, but can you be independent without your brothers and sisters during high school? without the support of your parents during college? without the support of your husband during your career?
Even though girl is a dependent, she is not weak. Her inner strengths aid her all the time.
NO body teaches her to support her younger sisters if they do a mistake.
No body teaches her to support her brother if he is into a fight.
No body teaches her to take care of her husband and family.
A girl leaves memories with every body, first her parents, then her brothers and siters, then her friends, and finally her husbands who get to have all the memories in her life! Husbands are the luckiest among all!!
