Yeah, IITians also study,sometimes.
This piece is not to be taken seriously. Don't be shocked.
Getting past the Joint Entrance Exam or the GATE exam is no mean task. Which is why people in IIT are extremely confident about their ability to perform. (I mean in exams, in case you get the wrong idea.)
Since they're that good, why prove it to anyone else?
This is the basic reason behind why most IITians get badly screwed in their exams.
The exam system at IIT is a pain - there are 4 sets of them every semester, so by the time you get a degree from IIT, you will have written around a hundred and twenty five exams!!
The average IITian takes acads very seriously the day before any exam. Which doesn't make much of a difference to his grades.
There's a large variety of grades up for grabs - AA, AB,BB,BC,CC,CD,DD and W, arranged in increasing order of ease, and decreasing order of desirability. For a W, you don't even have to attend class!Since there are a number of people in a branch, and all of them in the same hostel, acads is not a big
problem at all. The 'prestigious' task of attending class and taking notes is taken up by a select few, considered by others as sado-masochists.A few others are in the proxy business. The vast majority can be found sleeping in the common rooms.
If you take a peep into a classroom, you'll see the professor talking to empty benches. You'll have to take a better look - there are people only in the last few benches.
At IIT, like everywhere else, the last bench is the most preferred. No deep analysis required, the reason is simple - uninterrupted sleep with the prof's view obstructed.
At first glance, you might see a few guys taking notes. Look again - they're playing Tic-tac-toe or drawing pictures. A few others are in serious thought...'whom do I pain for a Tarams Tea tonight?'.
Some of them are actually looking at the prof -they're the lucky ones who can sleep with their eyes open.
The only time almost everyone in class is awake is when the prof takes attendance. So name your kid with A as the first letter - he/she will get to go to sleep earlier than the rest.
Come exam time, the notes are photocopied (where would we be but for Xerox corp.?), a little cramming, and the exam passes by. Back to the old routine. The grades aren't great, but hoping for anything good is really pushing your luck with this kind of lifestyle.
The students keep busy in playing with chalks in class while the
prof is busy in teaching.profs r often annoyed and students r enjoyed.
The ultimate BAQAR in hostel rooms ,wasting lots of time till
midnights and problem of getting early to classes and often
missing their breakfasts.TOPING(COPYING)of records and projects
,fixing the mates in xams and the days doesnot dare to look
back...
This is a article on 'Living of IITians' ha ha ha...
people aspire for studying in IIT for the above reason?? I really doubt now..
