10 questions to ask your boss
- Prof. 00782 Maverick
  Page: 1 of 1
Dear Boss, These are a few things that have been weighing heavy on my mind. I want to get them off my chest. Hope you'll answer my queries. Your obedient junior. I work twice as hard as you. I break my back over meeting deadlines and targets, amidst difficulties. Yet, when it comes to appraisals, why does the company want to recognise only your effort and not mine? A good worker, loads of patience, talent and skill - that's how the world sees me. Yet half an hour spent with you and I feel like that there's something wrong with me. Why do you make me feel like scum? Answering e-mails, faxes, voice mails. Fixing your mouse, rebooting your system....Am tired of fixing the tech stuff for you. When are you going to upgrade your mental processor to Version 5? Even better, why don't you outsource your tech chores? Apart from being technologically challenged, you also suffer from a superiority complex, looking down on lesser mortals like myself. Why don't you understand that such an attitude can be extremely discouraging and hardly reflects positively on your character? Comeptition is healthy, they say. But that works only in Utopia, methinks. Otherwise, why would you feel threatened every time I said something intelligent at company meetings? Why do you keep staring at space and pretend as though I didn't exist? When it comes to slogging, you choose me. Yet when it comes to promotions, why do you conveniently tend to forget that I exist and shower your attention on others? Why do you repeatedly put me in projects that no one else is willing to touch with a barge-pole? Rigid deadlines and tight goals seem to be applicable only for me - Am I the only one suffering? Have you ever tried unscrupulous means to climb your way up? You can tell me, I will not make this public! Since I see you as my mentor, I might even use it someday! How do you always manage to get such exorbitant salary hikes and perks, while poor me is left twiddling my thumb? Will you tell me when you plan to make an exit? I have been your Doppelganger for too long and am convinced that I can do justice to your role...
