Ingredients:
Rice - ½ Kg
Green Peas – 2 Cup
Onion - 3 No. Medium
Tomato - 3 No. Medium
Mint Leaves - 1 bunch
Bay leaf - 1 No.
Shajeera - ½ t Spoon
Turmeric Powder - Pinch
Daniya Powder - 1 spoon
Ghee and Oil - 1 Cup
For Paste:
Onion (big) - 1 No. (Chopped & fried in the oil)
Green Chilly - 8-10 Nos. (Chopped & fried in the oil)
Garlic - 2 No. (Medium)
Ginger - 1 inch
Coriander Leaves- 1 bunch
Cloves - 5 Nos.
Cinnamon Stick - 1 inch
Method:
1)Clean the rice and soak in the water for 15-20 minutes & drain the water.
2)Put oil and Ghee in a thick-bottomed cooking vessel, add bay leaf, shajeera and other seasonings.
3)Add onion, fry till it gets golden colour.
4)Add grounded masala, fry it till the raw smell goes off.
5)Add tomatoes and mint leaves, Turmeric, Green Peas & Daniya Powder sauté till it is slightly cooked.
6)Add water & salt for the rice. Add the soaked rice once water started boiling.
8)When the rice is half cooked keep the vessel on the tawa and close the vessel properly. Cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes.
9)After removing the vessel from the stove keep for 5 minutes then Serve with raitha.
