A letter to my valentine
- Mrs. sharmila Sanka

My dear valentine, Are you surprised to hear me say this? Yes, I have never ever addressed you so. This is my first time ever to call you Valentine. But now I think the time has come for me to expose my heart to you. It is inexplicable to describe the way I feel when I think of you. The moment I heard about you, I felt as if my heart skipped few beats in order not to break the ice; it was as if my eyelids didn’t dare to close with the fear of diversion; it was as if my mind became blank not to have any other disturbing thoughts at that moment. It was as if my blood stopped flowing in order to capture and fill the love that was to flow the next moment. Is this called ‘Love?’ Is love so desirous, divine and blissful? Love has only beginning but no end. This is the lesson I learnt after I started to love you. You solace my roaring mind, my trembling heart; you are my final destination; my only goal is to be one with you. But believe me, my love is selfless and desire less. I know you are far away from my physical proximity but I can feel you so close at heart. You listen to me with endurance. You rectify my mistakes in the form of my guilt. With you, my sorrows are diminished and my happiness is magnified. If I am to convey my Thanks to everything you do for me, I have to spend every microsecond in my life to utter ‘Thanks’ to you. You are so close to my heart; I am no different than you and so saying ‘Thanks’ and ‘Sorry’ takes me away far from your being. Having you with in me, my life has moved from pessimism to optimism, darkness to Light, immorality to Immortality. A heart when filled with the perfume of transformation, experiences the great feeling of reaching the apex of the mountain. I now have the same feeling of accomplishing my life’s objective in the process of making my life worthy in your thoughts. Let your love crush my ego; let your heart soften mine and let your words caress my ears. Your love is so selfless, pure and sacred that any one like me can snatch your love and lead a meaningful life. I am a little instrument in your hand spreading your love to the world, for my Lord you are my only Valentine on this earth plane. “Be a valentine of the nature or of God and your love shall never die.” Sharmila Sanka
