Mic testing, one two three.
Prashanthi opened a thread about a story/poetry competition. So, I collected a few of my random thoughts, and put the following text together.

WATER IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE:
While you were gone, some things did happen,
Ask me 'bout them, here I go rappin,
Teary eyed in joy, there I am snappin,
End of the man folks, promised to stoppin,
Rig up the vote, pain through the floppin.
In a short brief cameo, I would wish to start,
Stare at me like that, in fear I may fart *L* j/k.
In millions of years, slowly life evolved,
Mystery this was, quite never solved,
People walked on Earth, so red and big,
Only they ain't broken like a twig,
Reason so simple, full of stuff we are,
Takes one to see, and one to a bar,
Although all of it ain't obvious,
Nothing like this is so impervious,
Tasty it is, in every realm of the land.
Inaction in the bowels, you know the cause,
Now my friend, read again, by giving a pause.
Larger our mass, easier the flow,
If you are full of it, like light you would glow,
Funny you say, your lines ain't flater,
Every day is a smile, with a glass full of water

Seeing through the eye of an alien Andhrite,
This is how the world would look, add I might,
Raised the expectations were, of people I know,
To their resolve, not mine, I surrender and bow.
It wasn't easy making the first step,
Especially, if you are following someone's rep,
Struggles oh mighty, many a did, my parents,
Proof it is, my dad's Chetak frame so bent,
Vision you see, it was always of theirs so ambitious,
But, little else does a birth-giver know, ever so gracious.
Penny in hand, I used it as my magic wand,
Desires to fulfill, in this big of a land,
I hurried through exams, fighted through fever.
Job I procured, this is a desi's ultimate lever.
Quarter of my life has gone behind me,
Gratitude left undone, wrapped around thee,
Summon my parents, to show them the new world,
I tell them, their move paid off, them so bold.
I might send a dollar here and there,
But it ain't like my folks are broke and bare,
My pops will put it to good use, coz he is cool,
Like the kid, cousin of mine he put through school.
Wonder you might, reason for this verbose,
For poetry it is not, just plain prose,
Well, the reason I write is not for a story,
But, the truth underneath is so harsh but not gory.
I stand for a class suppressed for long,
Tribute to them, never mentioned in any song,
My ancestors sweated in the fields forever,
But rewards did they get? I would say never,
They toiled and toiled until they saw a light,
Modernization it was, they didn't have to put up a fight.
They made the move, attracted towards a city,
Set to eradicate their parents' misery and pity.
I am in the loop, a step closer to home,
Never would I know, until many a years to come,
I shall work towards it neverthless, with able body and mind,
It was a new world, blessed be the person with the find.
Onto the final stanzas,
The ruler hasn't changed,
The ruled haven't changed,
The book hasn't changed,
The place hasn't changed,
What held true, still holds true,
Nothing has comeabout out of the blue.
Don't get me wrong folks, the journey might never end,
Someone aptly said in regards, your mind doesn't bend.
Dream of my people was always a distant reality,
Glad I was, the person a little near to prosperity.
Love your family, work your duty, honor the laws by the book,
These are the values, were, are and will be if you look,
The morals are same, if you follow them,
The thing that changed, is now I got freedom.
