Recently I watched 'Lagaan'. Its one of my favourites. The scene that always makes me think is the scene when the King asks Capt Russel to talk to the neighbouring King (who incidentally is the King's brother) to release water; Capt Russel tells the king to eat Non-Veg.
What made him say that? Why does the king have to take that kind of insult from a person? telugulO oka sAmeta vundi piTTa pOru piTTa pOru pilli tIrchinaTTu ikkaDa iddari sOdarula madhya sayodhya lEnappudu dAnni aa videSIyuDu avakASam gaa tIsukOvaDam lo vintEmundi? If we see, its always true.
Just like during the war between Iran and Iraq in 1980's America supplied arms to both the sides and just like India and Pakistan are fighting over Kashmir.
Coming back to Lagaan.. Had the king not gone to the Capt and went to his brother, would the insult be more humiliating? Even in our daily life, we can take scoldings from our boss but we can't take it from our siblings who are elder to us or even to admit our mistake. Why do we let a third person rule over us all just because of the ego or the lack of the ability to forgive others? Even now, many people not realising the goal, spending more amount of time and resources in fighting over petty things. As long as we don't realise this... the CATS are going to reign.
