Story of Swathi
- Miss Nijam Niranjan
  Page: 1 of 1
Swathi was an average student, always getting average grades. There was time when she got least grades and all others got better grades. Thats not because swathi does not study, but because she got least of impression marks. Her primary school details were bad. Though she was a first rank student there, it was a telugu medium school. She hailed from a less reputed institution. Now this is a very reputed organisation that she is into. Swathi had no friends too. She was very sad about herself and was never happy. All her happy days were gone. But swathi’s parents have a meeting with the teachers and the principal of the institution and tell them how hardworking swathi is and how they are training her at home, how they have appointed an English tutor in the weekends to improve in English. They have also said that she had improved and promised that she will do so later. Swathi stands first next time in the class. Now all her troubles start. All other students started feeling jealous of her grades. They wonder how she stood first when all her grades were low when all of their grades were high. There was no limit to others' jealousy. They started commenting her when she enters and leaves the class. They said that she copied so she got first rank. She gets the comments in the canteen. They comment upon her pony, her style of walking and everything that comes to them. In the lunch hour when she is sitting idle, people in the back bench start torturing her. They smashed her project work, and also they used to steal her things and hide them somewhere for which swathi had to go all around the school to look for. One day they eat off her tiffin box telling the poen that they will give it to her personally. She had been on startvation some days due to their mischief. And when there were any birthday parties she was always out of the gang. Now swathi finds life sadder than before. She tried to convince them by good words. But they don’t heed. She is wondered how her best friend also stopped talking to her. She tries to take every body to a party. They are all good in the party and then as the saying goes by, dog's tail is always curved, she tried to divide friends even that doesn't work. She tried to complain to her teacher but even that doesn’t work. Two days they keep quite and the next day they are the same. Sama Dana Bheda Danda. Sama=good words. Dana=Bribe. Bheda=Divide. Danda=Punish. Only the last one upaya was left out. Punishment. Now Swathi is no more a sweet little girl. She learnt all abusive language. Whenever she finds people commenting or torturing her with bad words that hurts, she retorted back like a devil. There is a story. Vivekananda was being chased by some monkeys. When he ran and ran they still followed him. Someone shouted 'retort back'. He did the same. All monkeys took to heels. In the same lines Swathi’s troubles got washed off with her facing them. Don't run away from problems, problems come chasing you. Fight back, they diminish.
