Ingredients :
--------------
1).Chicken thighs-3lbs
2).Cilantro leaf-1 bunch
3).Onions-3 big size (for those who stay in USA ,use red
onions.White onions won't taste good for any of the
indian curries).
4).Red Chilli powder-2.5spoons
5).cumin powder- 1 spoon
6).coriander powder-3spoons
7).Salt-as required
8).Ginger-garlic paste-3spoons
9).khus-khus(poppy seeds) - 2tspoons
10).cloves(lavanga)-10 or 12
11).cinnamom(dalchina chekka)- 3inch piece
12).oil
13).Turmeric powder-1 pinch
14).Lemon juice-from 1/2 lemon
15).curd/buttermilk - 2table spoons
Procedure :
-----------
1).Firstly thaw the tyson chicken thighs which we get from american grocery stores.Or transfer the tyson chicken from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator just 1 night before the day u want to cook.It will thaw by itself.
2). Remove the skin ,cut the chicken and clean it well and marinate with ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, salt, lime juice,2spoons sour buttermilk, coriander powder, cumin powder for 1hour.
3).Meanwhile chop the onions to small pieces and in a pan with 3table spoons oil fry them to golden brown colour(transparent).U can also add few curry leaves.Take care to avoid burning of onions.Your curry tastes good only if your onions are fried to correct level without overcooking/undercooking.
4).Now add the marinated chicken to it and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
5).Grind khus-khus + cloves+cinnamom with some water to smooth paste and add this to the chicken and cook for 5 more minutes until it become half dry ) (water evaporates).
6).Now add a cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles. After 10minutes see if any extra water is left over.If so cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes until water evaporates and forms a thick gravy.Add cilantro leaves at the last to garnish.

For those who stay in USA

Thighs take lots of time to cook, so i suggest you to pressure cook, u can as well cook it in the normal pan with extra water. But it takes time. Thighs give a real good taste similar to our chicken curry which our moms prepare in india. Its yummy. Goes good with Rice/Biryani.
