How passionate relationships are ?
Yesterday, I came across with a touching incident, a scene with a deep expression of passionate love. And I understand that the key to a healthy life are Loving Relationships.
It's not a myth. It's not even an exageration. Being in a loving relationship with our dear ones is the very best of what anyone of us can ever experience in life. Wealth, fame, and power are mortal concerns which offer little in the way of genuine fulfillment. They are not enough to satisfy the soul or fill the heart. No dying man was ever comforted in his last moments by his riches, his fame or his success. If life has any meaning at all, it only becomes clear the moment that special someone looks deeply into your eyes and says those three words.
Thursday night, me and my friend were waiting to pick up a friend at the airport. This one occurred merely two feet away from us. The friend who was with me kept straining to locate our friend among the passengers deplaning through the jet way, Standing in the gallery, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family. First he went to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other's face and i heard the father say, It's so good to see you, son. I missed you so much! His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly - Me, tooo Dad !
Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son's face in his hands said, 'You're already quite the young man. I love you very much, Mike! They too hugged a most loving, tender hug.
While this was happening, his baby girl (perhaps one or one-and-a-half) was squirming excitedly in her mother's arms, never once taking her little eyes off the sight of her returning father. The man said.. Hello, my little darling ! as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.
After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and might have said - I've saved the best for last and proceeded to give his wife the most passionate kiss I ever saw. He was gazing into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed. I love you so much ! They stared at each other's eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant i thought they should be newly married, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn't possibly be. I puzzled about it all for a moment then realized how totally engrossed myself in the wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm's length away from me and i was not even aware that my two friends were watching me.. when i noticed my friends who did not like to disturb me.. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred. Then i looked back to my friends, ready to move out. But could not help.. little nervously went to man greeted with a smile and asked.. How long have you two been married ? Been married twelve years he replied, without leaving his wife's hand.
My next immediate question was, where are you coming from & how long have you been away ? I asked. The man finally turned and looked at me, (may be he knew that i was watching him for a while) but still in his joyous smile replied - i'am back from sweden after - Two whole days. Two days ? But was amazed by the intensity of the greeting, i had assumed he'd been gone for at least several weeks - if not months. I know my expression betrayed me.
Stunned, i said almost offhandedly 'Hope i too love my dear ones soo passionately after twelve years' The man suddenly stopped smiling. He looked me straight in the eye, and he told me something that touched me deeply. He told me, DON'T HOPE FRIEND... DECIDE! Then he flashed me his wonderful smile again, shook my hand and said, God bless! With that, he and his family turned and strode away together.
And i have decided to passionately love my spouse and child. Love is a VERB. It is an action word. We can DECIDE to love. Nothing is more important in today’s society than LOVING RELATIONSHIPS.
