Once upon a time, there lived a happy couple named Prasad and Mili in a cute little house. They sprinkled happiness into their lives with their jovial mood at all times. One fine day during a festival Prasad’s momi was getting ready to serve food to all the relatives present in their house. The leaves were spread on the floor to be served with all the dishes at one side. Suddenly he came from the room into the living room and accidentally hit the ghee vessel on the floor. His mom exclaimed in Telugu- “ayyO nEti ginne tannEsaavaa?”
“Emi, nuvvu taMdaamanukunnaavaa?” responded Prasad with the same exclamatory tone.
After hearing this incident from Prasad, Mili was then reminded about a funny incident and started to talk about her childhood days. She said-
‘When I was 10 years old, I was in my relative’s house for a marriage and all the children had to sleep on the kitchen floor. Next morning when I woke up, my cousins kept laughing at me and when I asked them what the matter was, they said while I slept, one of my legs was on top of the stove which was lying on the floor.’
Without wasting a second reacted Prasad thus- “if I were there, I would have turned ON the stove immediately.’ Mili was dumb found.
The Sun rose to its peaks and the couple was enjoying their holiday. Their friends arrived as usual and Prasad and his friend were discussing about some show in a particular city. His friend said- Shows costs 200 bucks per head. Prasad said with happiness on his face-
‘if my wife goes for the show, she can watch it free of cost.’
Mili was so excited to know why it wouldn’t cost a penny and excitedly asked Prasad the same for which he too excitedly told his friend- ‘Because my wife doesn’t have a head.’
Mili didn’t know whether to cry for his comments or laugh at his sense of humour.
Meanwhile they heard the phone ring. Mili’s sister was on the other side. She was so excited that she bought a very nice DVD player and she said to Prasad-
“You know something? My DVD player is real good. It has excellent features in it.”
It was Prasad’s turn-“oh really? Does your DVD player work without having to put a DVD in it?”
Hearing his question, all her enthusiasm and anxiety were put to sleep. She laughed within her own self saying Mili should take pride in his humor.
“Comedy should not be for an hour or day but all our lives.
Life should be filled with Comedy; it shouldn’t become Comedy.”-Sharmila Sanka
