When brothers fail to have brotherliness, when sisters fall short of sharing love, when children commit the sin of cursing their parents, where does Caste system stand in this modern world? Why do people fight in the name of Caste when they are not even fit to live peacefully as a member of a family under one roof? Is Caste system then hypocrisy or a man’s fiction to hide his insecurity?
Ignoring the significance of Caste system, people blame Sri Krishna Himself saying when God himself encouraged and divided the whole of humanity based on Castes, then how is it wrong on our part to discriminate our caste from others? When they believe in God’s words truly, why did we have hundreds of Castes in the age of Kali? Why are they not at all mentioned by Sri Krishna? When they believe in Lord’s words, why don’t they heed to other advices of the Lord? Why bother about this aspect alone?
It is not wrong to love one’s own caste but never hate others’ castes. Liking your own caste and hating others prove one is selfish and ignorant. Never hate any one while making friendship. If you fail to follow this rule in the case of Caste system, vain is one’s life. When he lacks integrity, when he lacks security, when he loses his individuality, it is then that the man starts depending upon his caste of birth and starts to provoke similar people and thus creates diversity amongst humanity.
The deeds and the way we perform them determine one’s caste and not by merely being born to parents of a particular caste. Where in this world do we find people following their family traditions and ancestral occupation? Even if they follow, where do we find people live and earn their livelihood truly? When they have failed to live such a life, how can they attribute themselves to belong to a certain caste?
We often say Religions are mere ways to reach God and it is foolish to fight in its name. I say it is equally foolish to fight in the name of ‘Caste’ too as it is only a means to reach an end but never an end in itself. If you wish, declare your identity with your caste but never make a mistake of taking pride in your caste for, all the castes are means to lead the diversified humanity on to one path with Unity to work towards the ultimate goal of fulfilling one’s own duty as a responsible human being.
Though not outwardly expressed, caste system acts as a major obstruction to people who are in love. Few people declare courageously to have fallen in love with beings of other caste but do they really live up to it?
In the beginning, a person cares for mere looks and by hook or crook tries to attract the other saying he is in love with her. After few days, he says her caste is never an obstruction to him and that he shall convince his parents. He achieves it with great difficulty and marries his beloved but later he identifies himself with his own caste and move along with the tastes and customs of his family that the girl’s life starts to be ill treated. So never ever believe blindly but look and feel with your heart before making your firm decision regarding Love marriages that involve 2 different castes. Parents and elders never have the broad hearts to accept daughters-in-law of other castes. Think well before you start digging your own pits. Think about your future more than the present when you are in love.
Thus in every facet of life, in every part of India, this Caste system acts as a hindrance to the living of humanity. It is petrifying to see people who leave behind their age old parents, kith and kin, traditions and great culture but they carry the feeling of Caste system across the nations and identify and group themselves under similar caste. Isn’t it disgraceful to carry the shadow of Caste system where ever they go? Sometimes they forget the fact that such a gloomy shadow hides their own being.
Hack the negative roots of Caste systems like cultured humanity and hack them as worthy souls with your selfless matured nature and thoughtful educated minds. Hack them by not growing the caste differences in the tender hearts of children. Treat no being as high or low; treat them with equanimity. Treat them like human beings. Instead develop and ponder on the great eternal truth that this is not your final life in the cycle of births and deaths. Who knows how you will be born as in your future births? Do not carry the scar of attachment to Castes all your lives. Act individualistic in paving way for a good cause. Have the broadened feeling of oneness that we all belong to one caste-the Caste of Humanity.
