WISDOM SERVICES OUTSOURCING (WiSO – pronounced as “Why So”) is a unique and innovative concept founded by Mr. Pragna Maharshi.
Pragna Maharshi opines that India contributed the most essential and valuable Wisdom to the world human civilization in the form of Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda, Herbal Medicine, Kamasutra, Organic Farming, Organic Lifestyle, Vedic Sciences and Mathematics (zero is Indian invention) and Ancient Indian Wisdom and a lot more.
But today, India is projecting itself as a nation which offers outsourcing services for low-end clerical processes such as Call Centres, BPO, ITeS and software coding.
He feels that it is a shame that we, Indians are projecting an image all over the world that we are a nation of cheap labour, software coders, call centre talkers, ship breakers and outsourcing process clerks and so on.
Especially, this is happening at a time when people in Western nations are increasingly getting attracted and influenced by the ancient Indian Wisdom and are realizing that ancient Indian wisdom plays a quintessential role in healthy and sustainable growth of human beings.
While there are opportunities to lead the world with our Wisdom, we are preoccupied in specializing low-end clerical services, which the Western businesses do not prefer to do themselves because they feel that they could have them performed by cheap labour as they feel it is sheer waste of their valuable resources because they are routine processes that require just low-end skills. Western nations prefer to spend their resources in innovating new concepts and products than on these low-end clerical processes.
Many Indians, including many policy-makers are so glad and proud that India is earning hard-currency through these low-end outsourcing contracts. But the question, we need to ask ourselves is ‘at what cost?’
While we are miserably losing great opportunities to lead the world with our Wisdom, we are not letting any stone go unturned to grab these low-end clerical outsourcing contracts. We have all the opportunities to earn lot more hard currency (if that is what our aim is) by offering Wisdom to the world than what we are earning by offering these low-end clerical services. But still no significant efforts are being made towards specializing in high-end Wisdom-based services.
It’s of no use blaming the Western businesses for the present situation in India because it is we, Indians that made the choice of being cheap labour for Western businesses and it is our choice to offer them low-end clerical services.
But India’s image has to be changed. We need to create an image around the world that India is a nation of people who offer high-end Wisdom-based services. In fact, we need to lead the world towards Wisdom Economy and Wisdom Society.
