Articles: TP Features | Wedding - Outsourcing - Mr. Maharshi Pragna
| |
Guess how many marriages take place annually around the world! It is in millions. How about capturing just five per cent of this market and attracting them to get married in India and celebrate their honeymoon too?
This is an untapped market with unbelievably huge market potential. Some of my friends and colleagues from the USA and Europe got married in remote Latin American or African nations so as to satiate their thirst for variety.
That is when I got this idea. Why can’t India with its vast natural and human resources and historical background become a global hub for Weddings? This thought prompted me to work on this concept further.
Thus, I coined the term, “Wedding Services Outsourcing”.
The uniqueness of India is that we are a multi-religious nation where Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Sikhism and even Judaism and Zoroastrianism are practiced. So, there is scope for attracting couples belonging to any of these religions who want their marriage to be performed following their religious practices.
If Indian government can rightly tap the market by two-prong strategy, namely effectively marketing this concept abroad and providing the necessary infrastructure in India for Wedding Services Outsourcing, it wouldn’t be difficult at all to attract around one lakh couple per annum in the immediate future.
If the couple and the people accompanying them spend on an average US$40,000 during their trip in India, that results in 400 Crore dollars (i.e. four billion dollars).
