I can’t wait until we start working on the specifics of our new home. We’re probably going to wait a few more weeks before we actually go out and talk with the builder, but I have my heart set on a few specifics. You know, like the number of bedrooms, the number of bathrooms, the basic square footage and my ideal flooring.
After living in the south, carpet is no longer my friend. I would love to have the floors covered with Prego Flooring I imagine gorgeous floors covered with huge area rugs in all different colors. They’re easy to maintain and the homes I’ve seen with this type of flooring are just gorgeous.
Of course I also have visions of brightly painted rooms, huge murals on the kids’ walls and an eclectic mix of taste and furniture. Even the thought of building our own home has me giddy with excitement. We don’t know if our dream will become a reality anytime soon, but we’re about to start looking into it.
I have a vision. I have a view. I want my family’s home to be one they will always feel safe and protected in. I want a home they all look forward to coming back to, no matter how old they are. I want to play with my kids in the backyard and rock my grandkids on the swing in the front yard. I want to sit in the twilight with my husband while the sounds of our children within floods our ears.
Our home. Our own place. Our own space in the world.
Some day. Some day soon.
