My Poem (1)
---------------
The Sweetest One
(Essence of Saraswati Suktam of Rig_Veda)
* * *
Thou art my sweetest and the loveliest Goddess of speech.
and the most delightful one who dwells in the ocean of light
that exists in the vast realm of the heart of the brilliant Sun.
Thou hast flowed with thy grace on earth from the snowy mountains
and the green forests dancing with waves of joy
and swirls of laughter, creating heavenly music
through sweet sounds of thy jingling anklets
and the chatter of royal swans to enliven the earth.
May we live in thy eternal music with
no separation from thy grace and purest joy!
May thou illumine our minds with thy intellectual powers
and the waters of light, delightful.
May thou protect the rivers on earth from the extinction and
protect us from the illness through thy medicinal waters.
Oh! My dearest and the sweetest Goddess of speech!
My beloved Mother! Thou art the destroyer of
the demons of darkness and the source of sacred word, and
Thou art the sole refuge for the men and gods at the times
of great distress and danger to the existence of universe
Thou art the preserver of eternal truths and the wisdom of God.
Please accept this hymn of devotion as a lovely digit of moon
to adorn thy beautiful fore head!
Thou art my wish yielding Tree.
Give me thy cool shade and lift me unto thy lap.
O Mother! Lay bare thy golden breast which is a perennial source
of nourishment filled with immortal wealth and the bliss of heavens
and with ambrosial milk of sacred word and divine poesy.
Give me thy golden breast to quench the thirst of my burning heart.
Let me suck thy nectarine milk to become an immortal, and
to possess the shining riches of the great lord of heavens.
O Mother! Bestow thy intellectual powers
and infinite wisdom along with sacred word and divine poesy
to rule the hearts of people on earth and the hosts of gods in heaven.
O Mother! Always sport as a Royal Swan
with lustrous lotuses of my thoughts
in the lake of my mind to reveal the secrets of the universe
and sing the songs of love and truth to mankind.
O Mother! Be pleased to bless a kiss on the fore heads of my children
and friends who read this poem with true love and devotion.
O Mother! O my sweetest and loveliest goddess of speech!
Obeisance! Obeisance to thy lotus feet !
