Articles: Poetry | Why do you keep silent? - Mr. venkatappaiah chilukuri
| |
Are you indifferent to the call of my soul?
Are you deaf to the cry of my heart?
Why do you not answer me?
Why do you stare at me with cruelty of heaven?
Doest thou turn into an image of dark alabaster?
Doest thou turn into a mountain of hushing darkness?
If thou don’t like my presence and
If thou don’t want my love and laughter
You should hate me and should kill me then.
Why do you turn your head aside?
O.k. Stop to listen my words!
O.k. Stop to look at my face!
Hand me your shining sword!
Hand me your dexterous dagger!
Ah, I bore a hole into my bosom
I plucked my heart out and threw it into the sky
Ah, I cut my head and flung it into your heaven
Behold, my head turned into sun and rising in the sky
And my blood flushed as dawn
Behold, my heart turned into a shining moon and
Blood sprinkled as trillions of stars all over the sky
Why do you burst into roars of thundering clouds?
Why do you down pour tears of blood into oceans?
Why do you stretch your hands into infinite voids?
Why do you dance in the darkness of heavens
As goddess of death with flowing disheveled hair?
