Dear friends,
Now a days there are many many mimicri artists giving programmes in several places and even abroad also. But some items are sterio type and change is essential to attract audience. For this, I desir to suggest the following.
Like Astavadhanam and sathavadhanam, better the mimicri artist also practice avadhanam and give performance on the spot on the given topic. Keep the programme atleast for one hour. Like in Avadhanams, there will be some pruchakas who give topics in advance say half an hour and the artist has to prepare the script and give performance on the topics. Some years back, Dhara brothers (Three) used to give Natyavadhanam like this, and as Secretary of Krishna District Telugu writers, we have arranged their programme in the year 1968 in the then Rammohan Library hall, Vijayawada. They gave programme for two hours and the vetern writer Sri Peddibhotla Subbaramayya acted as convener.
Like wise, if two or three mimicri artists join together and give mimicri avadhanam, it encourages the creativity in the artists than to follow sterio type performances. If they are successful and can give programmes, I think it will be a novel attempt and I will request the TANA committee or ATA committee in USA to invite them for their next conventions in USA. If there is any positive response, I will surely approach the TANA and ATA before I leave Canada and USA. I wish all success to the mimicri artists in their attempts.
