Vishnu’s Thousand names and Equality of Religions
1. In Bhgavath Geeta’s Viswasandarsana yoga, “Aneka vasthra nayana , aneka baahodara vakthram” Slokas are there. The great Virat purusha ‘s thousand names when made into a garland offered is “ Vishnu sahasra nama sthrothra.” How these number of names have come up?
2. These well known names of gunas , of the great Mahaathma , are sung by Rishis ! Agni puraana says “Jotheemshu Vishnuvu , Bhuvanaani , Vishnuvu , Vanaani Vishnuvu , Girayoh Vishnuvu , Nadyeshu Vihnuvu , Samudraani Vishnuvu … ithi”.
3. Singing anath gunas of Vishnu each guna is explained , and with each name Rushiswaras praised Lord Vishnu. Because of their pravachans these names achieved Veda praamana, Paavithram , mangala sakthi to possess mahima to enhilate difficulties of those suffering.
4. In 10th chapters of Bhagavath Geeta Names of Vishnu are:Adityah, vishnuh, ravih ,jyothih, mareechih, maruthah, nakshtrah, vedah, samah, devah, rudrah, vasuh, pavakah, skandah, maharshih, yagjnah, aswathah, vrukshah, siddhah, kapilah, amrutah, narah, ayudhah, sarvah, vasukih, anantah, varunah, yamah, kalah, ramah, dhatah, smrutih, medhah, kshamah, rutuh, vyavasayah, vasudevah, dhananjayah, vyasah, kapih, dandah (41).
5.Similarly in 11th chapter Names of Vishnu are : Tatparah, avyayah, parameswarah, prabhuh, adityah, vasuh, rudrah, harih, paranah, ananthah, puroshah, anadih, anantabahuh, arkah, dyutih, aprameyah, saswatah, dharmah, sanatanah, swakshah, vishnuh, sarmah, tejah, kalah, hrushikesah, adidevah, vayuh, yamah, varunh, agnih, sasankah, prajapatih, pitamah, vikramah, krushnah, vedyah, chaturbhujah, viswamurtih.(39) (considering common names a total of 70 names)
Equality in all religions
6.The sthotra does not show any difference between Siva and Vishnu , but their oneness is shown. Showing for Vishnu many names, out of several names of Siva
to ensure there is no difference between Siva & Vishnu. Example:30 pnames of Siva are there,which are:
Sthanuh , Sivah, Sarvajgna , Rudrahah , Sarvah , Sarabhah , Mahabhothah, Bhoothavasah, bhootaMaheswarah, Bheemah , Parameshtah , Eswarah, , Esanaha ananthah ….. etc.
7. In the same manner, names belonging to the Religions Bouddha, Sikh, Jaina Parsi , Chraistava, yoodu,a Samarasyamu : Bouddha, Sikku , Parsee , kraisthava , Yoodu , are included in Vishnu sahasra as shown below:-
Bouddha Religion ;
” Siddhardhah , Sarvagjnah , Sastha , Maha Buddih , Bhagavan , Anandah , Nirvanam , Asokah “ etc
Sikh Religion :
“Ekah , Sath , Guruh , Jithamithrah, etc
Jain Religion :
“Suddhah , Vardha Manah , Veerah , Samanah , etc
Parsi Religion :
“Vasumathih , Mashan .
Christian Religion :
“Paramatma, Ekatma , Kshaminam Varah, Bhothatma , Pithah , etc such many names or equivalents are hundreds in this religion
Yudu Religion :
“Maha veeryah , Maha Sakthih.”
