Today is lst April. When once we say that it is lst April, people reckon it immediately for April Fool Day or All Fools Day. While it is not proper now to comment on how the importance was attained for the All Foold Day on l April.
Actually it has lost its importance. Even now, everywhere people so foolishly celebrate and deceive themselves and try to fool themselves by attempting to fool others for a shortwhile. It is the need of the hour to boycott or abolish such celebrations because they create a bad impact on society by some bad elements. Let us not fool ourselves by discussing more about this.
The lovers as well as haters of April l i.e. All Fools Day that there is more importance to this day of the calendar for many more historical importance as well as events. They are as follows :
A. Doordarshan Formation Day
In 1976, Govt of India had started Doordarshan on this fools day only. The quality of programmes in Doordarshan is only to be felt by everybody rather than writing through articles.
B. C B I Establishment Day
Again, Govt of India had felt the necessity to establish Central Bureau of Investigation in 1968 a separate wing to investigate and curb the corruption and other related issues.
It has been completing nearly 4 decades. One can evaluate the rate of corruption in our Motherland.
C. Reserve Bank Establishment Day
Once more, IndianGovt had decided to establish a separate Banking Wing at the top i.e.Reserve Bank of India in 1935 which is expected to take care of central banking functions and bankers bank and banker to state govt. Even after lapse of 7 decades, private banking started second innings while nationalised banks have been struggling to survive to reach on par with the private banking. Everybody knows the fate of people affected from urban cooperative banking fraud cases and other banking frauds like securities scandal wherein only RBI is fully responsible. Govt of India and RBI have been functioning in such a way that mutually both are played hide and seek game. There is nothing to watch more.
D. Introduction of Income Tax (1869)
This is also innovative aspect for the overall development of India. What is the benefit overall due to Income Tax. What is the percentage of sincere tax payers and percentage of tax evasion cases. We are yet to think of levying tax on Agriculture. Not significant tax reforms when compared to other world systems. We are in the middle of the tunnel and the movements are restricted.
E. Preventive Blindness - Dedicated week from 1-7 April.
This appears to be reasonably a good cause to dedicate and help from the possible tragedies. Let each adopt one case of risk and help in this regard.
So, exceept the last one, all other importance aspects of l April, we are being fooled legally and no penalty to the administrators. This is the time to kick the administrators and let us throw them into the silent valley.
I will end this article with the quotation of Alexander Pope - 'Let Fools only run the Governments; whatever best administrated only ultimately counts'.
Let us not give too much importance to the organs of administration i.e. Executive, Judiciary, Legislature.
Let us resolve ourselves the problems in society, of society by society. Let us replace the word of 'Government' as 'Society'.
