I for one always believed in ' there is so much more to life than living' I was always looking out for something to make my life more beautiful, make it worthwhile to spend each day at a time. In the course of which I encountered many interesting and not so interesting incidents, being a writer makes you look into that grey area of human mind and we come to realize that life is just not black and white but there is grey in between some where. I have lived in this far off land away from family, friends and memories that I build over years; I had my share of happiness and sadness which makes me what I am today, if anything I would not take away anything that happened in my life. Except, what shook me and my belief in humanity on September 11th here in New York. It was the most ghastly incidents in the human history, so many lost their lives and so many children are left with single parents. It is going to be one year soon and no body actually recovered from it completely, no body will. My husband knew this family of three and they were expecting an addition along with us, not only was that common but both my husband and this guy used to travel to New York City from New Jersey where we stay. The day of the tragic incident we had an appointment with my doctor so my husband took a day off and unfortunately his friend lost his life in the World Trade Center blasting and the next week that followed brought in so many painful happenings in his family’s life that it can never be erased. Their newborn infant never knew his father, never will he see his dad’s proud smile, nor will he play with him. Life is short, yes we are aware of this but can we ever be prepared for something like this. He never went for war just to attend office and it was just another normal day. This is just one person, there were so many out here, that it breaks your heart to see the families that are left behind after September 11th horrific events. Folks, life is precious, take care of those who mean to you today, cease the moment. Enjoy each day as it comes, we live only once. After Sep 11th tragedy, we had our first born and we treasure each moment that we get to spend with our baby. The irony of it is where there is death, there is life; Its, I guess God’s way of showing that life goes on no matter what. Now I don’t look out for something to make my life more beautiful as life in itself is precious and beautiful, just fill it up with colors of love, affection and expression. Sairam !
