Life is dull without friends. We all know that. But when we really use the word friend, we do not really feel or understand the meaning of it sometimes. These days we come across so many people who just want to talk to you for time pass or for just getting some information or making use of you for their own purposes. They seem to be friendly, but there is a motive behind it. But we also have many people around who really can not stay away from us and atleast once in a week, we meet or atleast pick up the phone and chat for a while and know each other's welfare and discuss things of mutual interest and feel happy at the end of the conversation.
There are so many sayings like A Friend in Need is a friend indeed etc. to quote many. A real friend is the one who stands by when you are in crisis. Because we see people running away from us if we are getting into problems of any sort. This realisation dawns on us suddenly after decades of knowing each other. How do we feel about it? I also agree that if we are expecting something from the so called friends, we should also accept that we are also not true in friendship. Because we are making friendship expecting something from them, whether it is justifiable or not is other thing. But as human beings, I think the first and foremost thing one should cultivate is empathy towards the other fellow whether he is known, unknown, acquaintance or friend.
Friendship will be a sustainable relationship if there is no place for comparisons, jealousies and back bitings. Generally what we see in people causing problems is weighing each other's social status, financial worth or education and thereby trying to pull each other's leg in public or hurting each other with sarcastic remarks or directly or indirectly passing remarks which hurt a person the most. Today I came across a beautiful message and I thought of sharing with all of you and I hope you will enjoy reading it and understanding the essence of it.
Life is after all a pedestal and a big stage for learning so many things and we come across so many beautiful actors while enacting this dram of life.
