Flag is a symbol of a nation, party(group of people), sports, hotels etc. It reflects the nature of the thing in question. For example, any country is recognized by its flag. Every country is recognized by its flag. Every independent country has a flag of its own.The Indian flag contains three colours-amber, white, and Green.Each colour symbolizes one important quality. Sri Pingali Venkaiah is the authour of Indian flag. Ashok Chakra is embibed in the middle.
By saluting the flag we express our reverence to our mother-land.
Pupils wear flags on important occasions like Independence Day,Republic Day.
In bi-lateral talks,ambassadors keep Flags of respective countries by their side for easy recognition.
Flags are erected in star hotels, Sports fields etc, also. It gives a festive look.
It can be seen on the top of the chariot of a warrior. It is easy to notice a particular warrior even from a distance just by looking at the flag. Arjuna in The Maha Bharata chose to keep kapivara Anjaneya on his chariot.
In KUMARA SAMBHAVA kavya Maha kavi kaalidaasa describes with apt comparison how the flag of Dushyanta’s chariot is turning towards the ashram of Kanva sage,as if his thoughts are lingering over Shakuntala-whom he married ,when he is leaving to his place.
