Not all the species on this have five senses. It is the human beings that have taste, vision, and audibility, touch and smell…five senses. It is a gift of nature to the Homo sapiens sapiens. Philosophically, biologically, physically speaking, bu the prolonged usage of these senses, one will fix some standards…like good taste or bad taste, heat, warm or cold, good music or bad music, indian music or western music, beauty or ugly, good smell or foul smell etc. these are just the standards that are fixed by us. In fact, we do standardize them. According to those standards, we move in and around. We just escape those standards. If tried, we may face lot inconvenience. It is because these several pre-conceived notions about the standards that dominate our mind. It’s a matrix of standards.
We can explain almost all the issues of human life by applying this matrix. Let us explain the dowry in this regard. Among wife and husband, generally wife will be of young age. Hence, she will be tuned according to the needs of her husband. She bound to do it, because it is culturally prescribed and was inclucated in such a way by her natal family members who are parents. She does sex, cooking, interior decorating etc according to her wish, if she is allowed or according to the wish of her husband, or according to the concensus of both. After some duration that may be prolonged again, there emerge a standard of living. If the previous standards of both that are acquired before their marriage, are contractory there may be friction. There need to be some compromise in standards.
O.K. They have compromised. Now they are o.k. Let us assume they may have children. Those children may be daughter or son, or both. Here some standards of mother, and some are from father will be imbined in to their mind differently. Again with the prolonged duration of those standards, their children will realize some standards and fix them as their standards. But the daughter, or son may choose different standards randomly from their parents. It is because some standards are gender specific that are culturally tenable. It is automatic process. They do it unconsciously. Now, each and every one has some standards may reflect their character. Here a small hint the parents can become a standard to the children.
