Ingredients: | | | Par Boiled Rice | : | 1 cup | | Black Gram Dal | : | ½ cup (dehusked) | | Salt | : | 2 tsp | |
| Preparation: | | Clean, wash and soak rice and dal separately in sufficient water for nearly 4-5 hours.Grind dal to a light and fluffy consistency and rice to a grainy consistency.Mix ground ingredients together with salt, using your hand. | | Cover and set aside for about 10-12 hours to ferment.Stir batter and pour into greased idli moulds and steam for 10 minutes. Serve hot with ghee and coconut chutney. |
