Chicken Rasam

Ingredients:
 
 Chicken:250 gm
 Onions:2 big
 Tomato:3
 Turmeric Powder:¼ tsp
 Ani Seeds:¼ tsp
 Curry Leaves:5-6
 Coriander Leaves:Small Bunch (finely chopped)
 Salt:to taste
 Oil:2 tsp
 
 For Rasam Powder::
 Coriander Seeds:2 tsp
 Red Chillies:3
 Black Pepper Corns:1½ tsp
 Cumin Seeds:2 tsp
 Ani Seeds:½ tsp
 Cinnamon:1” piece
 Garlic:6 flakes
 
Preparation:
 
Clean the chicken properly. Chop onions, tomatoes, finely.
 
Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and put aniseeds. Fry for 1 minute and add chopped onions and tomatoes, fry well till they become soft. Add chicken, turmeric powder and fry for 5 minutes. Add 2 ½ cups of water, salt and let it boil for 20 minutes (if using pressure cooker cook till one whistle comes).
 
Fry all the ingredients, which are mentioned for powder (except garlic) without adding oil, till good aroma comes. Grind the fried ingredients to a coarse powder. Add garlic and run the mixer for few seconds. Add this powder to the boiling rasam and let it boil for 3 minutes. Turn off the stove and add chopped coriander. Meanwhile heat 1 tsp oil in a seasoning pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. When mustard splutters, add this to the rasam. Cover rasam with a lid.
