Ingredients: | | | Bengal Gram | : | 250 gm | | Milk | : | 1 ltr | | Jaggery | : | 300 gm | | Cardamom Powder | : | 1 tsp | | Coconut | : | ½ (grated) | | Cashew Nuts | : | 4-5 (chopped) | | Raisins | : | 4-5 | |
| Preparation: | | Cook Bengal gram in enough water till soft. Drain excess water. Mash cooked gram slightly (don't over do). Add jaggery, cardamom powder, grated coconut and dry fruits. Cook for 10 minutes stirring continuously. Finally add boiled milk. Mix it once. Remove from fire. Serve hot or cold. | | Note: Remove payasam from fire after adding milk to avoid milk from curdling. |
