Ingredients: | | | Large Grain Sago | : | 1 cup (frying vareity) | | Green Chillies | : | 3-4 (chopped) | | Turmeric Powder | : | ½ tsp | | Salt | : | to taste | | Cashewnuts | : | 2 tsp (chopped) | | Ground Nuts | : | 2 tbsp | | Sugar | : | ½ tsp (powdered) | | Citric Acid | : | 2 pinches (powdered) | | Oil | : | for frying | | Curry Leaves | : | 1 spring | |
| Preparation: | | Heat oil in a large heavy bottomed frying pan. Put in a handful of sago and allow to puff them well. Remove the puffed sag from oil before they get discoloured. Keep the fried sago on a tissue papaer. Repeat the same procedure until all the sago is finished. Transfer the fired sago in a large and wide bowl. | | Now fry the groundnuts in oil till crisp and golden, drain and add this to sago. In the same way fry cashews and add to sago mixture.Finally fry green chillies and curry leaves till crisp, add turmeric powder and add to sago. Mix together all the ingredients using hands till the fried sago is well coated. | | Let the mixture stand till it reaches room temperature and store in airtight container. | | Caution: Keep enough distance with the stove as sago pops quite vigorously sometimes. |
