| Ingredients: | | | | | Prawns | : | 2 kgs | | | Ladies Fingers | : | ½ kg | | | Onions | : | ¼ kg (chopped) | | | Tamarind | : | 50 gm | | | Garlic | : | 10 flakes (chopped) | | | Ginger | : | small piece (chopped) | | | Green Chillies | : | 30 gm (slit length wise) | | | Turmeric Powder | : | ½ tsp | | | Coconut Oil | : | 4-5 tbsp | | | Salt | : | to taste | | | Grated Coconut | : | 6-8 tbsp (finely ground) | | |
| | Preparation: | | | | Remove shells from prawan. Devein and wash them well.Heat oil in a pan, add onions and saute for 2 minutes. Add coconut paste, garlic, ginger, green chillies and turmeric. Add prawns and pour enough water water to cook prawns. | | | | Wipe ladies fingers with a clean and damp cloth. Cut them into 2 inch pieces. Fry them in oil till light brown. | | |
| Add fried ladies fingers to prawans and cook on low fire. When it is almost cooked, add tamarind extract and salt. | | | | Cook on a low fire till done. Remove from fire and serve with steaming rice. |
