Ingredients: | | | Split Red Gram | : | ½ cup | | Split Bengal Gram | : | 2 tbsp | | Capsicums | : | 3 | | Red Chillies | : | 4 | | Asafoetida | : | a pinch | | Mustard Seeds | : | ½ tsp | | Curry Leaves | : | 1 twig | | Oil | : | 6 tbsp | | Salt | : | to taste | |
| Preparation: | | Soak grams in two cups of water for half an hour. Wash and chop capsicums. | | Grind soaked grams along with red chillies, asafoetida and add a little salt. | | Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add chopped capsicum and sauté until capsicum becomes soft. Set it aside. | | Heat remaining oil in a frying pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. When mustard starts to splutter, add ground gram mixture and stir well. Cook until the gram mixture turns dry and golden in colour. | | Add sautéed capsicum to the fried gram, mix well and serve hot with rice. |
