We hear from every other person that 'Women need to be uplifted' 'purushulatho samanam gaa raninchale' etc.... But I want to ask why still we need to be uplifted?Inka em raninchale?Is there a field we have not entered and not been successful?Starting from climbing mount everest to going to outer space we have achieved. Britain had been thru the rule of many queens.The one who is older gets the throne not on the basis of the sex.This kind of discrimination they never know.Even India had been thru the rule of many queens who had the throne..Not only jhansi rani in maharashtra but also rani rudramma devi of andhra who ruled in 1300 AD itself. And even lately we had a lady prime minister who ruled the country very dynamically and who was known to be a lioness and sacrifiecd her life for the country. Due to muslim invasion we lost freedom for some years .Women had to be protected and many practises came into existense.But during the independense movement women came out of their houses and participated in large numbers thus getting liberated.Since then women started entering all fields and have been excelling men(I would not say equal to men here..we have excelled than equalled) Now there is not a field we have not entered. we find women in air force,police services.In America we even find women in defense services landline.We have entered in large numbers all industries including software.We have doctors ,engineers ,architects,IAS,IPS officers who are ladies.We find women accepting prestigious positions. Coming to sports there would not have been anybody who had not heard of P.T USHA.leave good old days.....Now we find the girls getting more medals in wrestling competitions.Women boxing also got started in India. In Europe you even find foot ball teams for women. There was a time when women were not allowed to dance and sing publicly.... There would be nobody who had not heard of MS subba laxmi.No body got as famous as she.Once kuchipudi dance was being danced by only men.Now we find more female kuchipudi dancers than men. At the time of sankaracharya itself women were into studies and there was an instance of a lady arguing with ADI SANKARA CHARYA on philosophy.Even during upanishad times there were ladies who studied vedantha like gargi and maithreyi. So What I would say is that 'uplifting women' 'Equality' are not todays issues.WE already are there where we should be, even ahead of where we should be.
