I read the article, “Preparing for the Harvest”, by Mr.V.K.Shashikumar, on 7th February 2004 edition of Tehelka.
It is very investigative article indeed with fullof insight into the American sinister designs. One need not blame American policies in this regard, I believe. Because we ourself are responsible for our problems. We failed to eradicate several social evils. We got independence, only physically not spiritually. Our religious organisations like VHP and RSS failed to address the real issues of Hinduism, as, in practice they never advocated the abolition of dowry, untouchability and even failed to invlude the downtroddon sections of the society. What they are doing is totally reverse. The RSS and VHP became hub of well-off sections of the society.
We claim that Hinduism is great, but where is in practice? An Indian called Americans on 11th September 1893, as “Sisters and Brothers of American”. But Robertson called Hindus ad daemons. What a contrast indeed! The missionaries need not teach the language of soul to the Indians, as their philosophy itself teaches that. If the religious organisations in India identified that,then they will think about the obstracles of Indian society towards egalitarianism, talk ,reform and advocate it. Then only there will be stopage of religious conversions in India. One need not be worried about American Intelligence. The CIA failed to predict the debacle of the USA in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and September 11 attacks. Even India did her nuclear tests, not one but five, tactivally, unnoticed by the CIA and other American Intelligence satellites. They feel they are great, but often ignorant. They feel they can do anything, even though they acquired the ethnographic date of total India, they can do nothing. Because,India is capable to solve her own problems. The religious conversions in India are not shame to those people who are converting, but to those who failed to reform the Hinduism in practice.
We need religious organisations like Arya Samaj, Brahma Samaj like organisations, not VHP, RSS, etc like organisations. Because these organisatinos try to show to the other religions that Hinduism is so weak.
