At the same time, massive urbanization and industrialization have left very little nature and clean environment in urban areas around the world. Crammed concrete jungles have created urban lifestyles that are to a great extent disconnected from nature, which is very essential for a mentally and physically healthy life.
Hence, forest-based leisure, travel and tourism activities attract more and more people, thus, creating massive employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. There is great potential for forest-based sports and fitness activities such as river-rafting, mountain-climbing, trekking and other adventure sports. Forest-based cultural tourism is another area with great potential. People can stay and experience the life-styles and cultures of the tribes living in remote jungles.
If Indian government can take the initiative to promote the forest-based services and products without damaging the purity and sanctity of the forest eco-systems and the forest values, it will create lakhs of wisdom-based jobs.
