The Road not taken
- Miss sruthi laya
< < Previous   Page: 3 of 3
One of my good old friend my only companion in primary and high school who lived in the same building is getting married. She is getting married to some one abroad. In the meantime few friends who met me here and there were only telling me that they are going to America either after marriage or in search of job. I joined an MNC. I went onsite soon after I entered the company. I surprisingly heard the client who is born and brought up in london say “sruthi I never stayed with my parents after I turned 18”. I was schocked. Where have those values gone? What happened to the culture? Why has everybody become so selfish. We are taught “Matru devobhava pitru devobhava acharya devobhava.” This is what we do to our parents who have taken so much care of us? We are not to be blamed entirely for this we are brought up to take this road. We have been learning everything in order to go to west. Our teachers, profs everybody around are teaching us that. It is as if the educational institutions are themselves body shoppers. I still remember Amitabh and shashi kapoors dialog thou it has become a satire now “Mere paas gadi hai bangaloo hai tere paas kya hai” Anwer “Mere paas mAA hai” Today in my mid thirtes I feel happy and proud to have taken the ROAD NOT TAKEN.
