Other advantages of strong family ties include:
- Emotional support from people with similar values and beliefs;
- Identify a sense of belonging;
- Kith and kin contacts also foster an appreciation for the rewards and challenges that each life stage brings in.
This works like a booster-dosage and gives Phillip to every individual in the family network.
In the modern era, children & youth confront lots of crucial times in their life and at times they become desperate, frustrated and even go to the extent of attempting on their own lives. NZ has the highest record of youth suicide in the world. This trend is to be viewed very seriously by every one of us. Youth is such a stage of life, where ego prevents in seeking advice from others and at the same time lacks maturity of mind in deciding for them selves what is right for them.
At such a stage, Parents and Grand Parents, Uncles and Aunts would be a great source of counseling agencies. They being a strong team of your well-wishers, often guide you properly and offer immense moral support. The chances of your selves going astray in those circumstances are remote. This means, at every stage in your life, you have some one to always offer you a helping hand. This system works perfectly like a Corrections Department.
We see in today’s western society exactly the opposite happening.
Recent incidents of Schoolboys going on a firing spree using rifles/pistols in U.S.A;
-Teenagers taking to drugs;
-Alcoholism, promiscuity and prohibitive & killer drugs;
-Bank robberies by youngsters;
-Terrorism;
- Joining mafia groups on the pretext of making a fast buck - are all appalling and distressing facts.
What could be the attributing factors to this strange behavior?
Is it due to the solitude life style supported and practiced by the western society?
Bad parenting?
Early school leaving concept?
Emotionally upsetting T.V. serials?
Violent video Games?
More freedom to teenagers?
Too much of Legislature on Privacy Act?
May be few or all of the above!!!
