Articles: Philosophy | Why We Should Study `GEETA' - Mr. Bhuvanendra Bhupala
| |
If one refers to all the 700 verses in Bhagawad Geeta covered by 18 chapters, one would never be able to find the word Hindu or Hindutva. This makes it clear that the teachings given in Bhagavad Gita are not confined to a single religion, sect or category of mankind, but for the entire 840 millions of species in the Universe. Krishna is the Almighty and he addresses Arjuna who is representing the 840 million species in general and the entire mankind in particular. Hence, the misconception that ‘Bhagawad Geeta is the holy book of Hindus Only’, and not for other religions’ is to be dispelled from one’s thoughts. It is for one and all beyond caste, creed, color, race. This is a Universal Book of Solutions & the Ultimate Gospel of the Lord.
Think of any subject in the modern times. You would find it in Bhagwad Geeta. For example, the Astrology, Human Psychology, Anthropology, Biology, Political Science, Administration, diplomacy, anger management, stress management, Personality development, Cosmography & Cosmogony, Renunciation, True Wisdom, God and His creation, Path of devotion, Yoga, how to conquer the senses, Discovery of the absolute truth etc.
The battle field “Kurukshetra’ of Mahabharat times, still physically exists in Northern India with the same name and evidence of its existence is available in a plenty with the Archaeological Department of Government of India.
The city ‘Dwaraka’ ruled by Lord Krishna’s elder brother Balarama, which was deemed as the most modern & high-tech of those times is also in existence in Northern India, but submerged in Sea. Archaeological survey of India has discovered the remains in the recent years. For further information on this, readers may look into Government of India, archaeological Survey websites or contact Indian embassy in your country for any help.
The irony is that we believe in old stone-age, battle of Bulge, European renaissance, Alexander’s dynasty, first and second world wars in History but much more historical and most ancient, we take a suspicious look. This we call it as ‘The Fading away of the Past’ like our memories. We are so much tied up with our daily chores, running around spending all our energies to earn a pittance but care a less to spare some time to read the 'GEETA' which is the treasure of knowledge. Reading an hour a week OR ONE SLOKA in a month of this Book would bring a lot of peace in your life. This statement is based on the personal experiences of many celebrities among the spiritual leaders today.
This is an appeal to all to read ‘Bhagawad Geeta’ which brings peace and prosperity to the mankind in today’s tension oriented life.
