- Risk-taking culture, critical thinking and learning-attitude are prerequisites for creativity and innovation. Unless the leadership possesses these prerequisites, creative brains don’t take the initiative to get into action. To attain these prerequisites one requires wisdom.
- People (read customers) are increasingly opting for businesses that empathize with their feelings/emotions, offer personalized services/solutions and understand their future/present requirements/expectations effectively. This requires wisdom.
- The present Knowledge-economy is giving more preference to technology but technology sans wisdom can only result in more and more problems. Hence, technology needs to be driven by Wisdom.
- Computers with gigabytes of memory, Internet with millions of websites, TVs with hundreds of channels, thousands of magazines and newspapers on every imaginable topic, radios and cell phones which update us with the up-to-the-second happenings; there is knowledge every where around us. 200 years ago, what took the human-being a period of more than 100 years to acquire the knowledge; one can acquire it today in less than 100 minutes by reading any news paper.
No nation/person/organization is suffering from the lack of knowledge. Despite the terabytes of knowledge stored in our brains and databases, the problems in the society and in our personal lives are on a perennial rise. Because, at the height of Knowledge-Society, what we are lacking is not knowledge but wisdom.
- To make sense of the flood of knowledge in our personal or professional lives, we need wisdom.
- People (read customers) around the world are increasingly demanding corporate companies to respect social obligations, ecology, ethics, human rights and work towards the holistic and sustainable development of the society. This requires wisdom.
- In future, we will have to use less and less energy/resources/capital but still be able to offer better life standards, health and wealth to all the stake-holders of the society. Hence, we will have to work more and more creatively and intelligently and committed. This requires wisdom.
- As responsible citizens of the earth, it is our obligation to offer our next generations a better world. Hence, we need to create a sustainable, recyclable, eco-friendly, upgradeable, adaptable, innovative and socially responsible economy to our children. This requires wisdom.
- Wars, famine, floods, poverty, killings, hatred, greed, discrimination, suppression, official and unofficial frauds and the list go on and on; they are on constant rise despite our claims of reaching the heights of development that the human-beings have ever witnessed in the annals of human civilization. Knowledge-economy has only multiplied the problems. Wisdom-Economy has the answers for all the problems.
